I love this place and eat there 2+ times a month. Sonny always takes the time to come out and greet the customers. He always knows what you ate even if your plate has been cleared.If you want pancakes you only need to order one since they are the size of the plate. Omelettes are great as are the home fries, perfectly crisp. And they serve well made grits. If you arrive early the oatmeal is yummy and you can have it anyway you want.
I love this place. The owner and employees are super sweet and the prices are low. I don't think they accept credit or debit cards, just cash.
As I walked up to Sonny's restaurant I noticed it was tucked away like a hidden Gem:)So I walk in and finding a seat was easy and just where I wanted to sit.The waitress was pretty and very nice. The food was so amazing. The other customers were friendly as well.. many locals here.Sonny even struck a covo and was very busy making sure his business was moving forward and his customers were comfortable.I really enjoyed my first visit & will be back!Thanks Sonny & Staff..!!!
UPDATE: Came for breakfast, we were seated and since it was busy told the waitress as she brought our menus that we didn't need them we knew what we wanted. She threw them back on the table stating the waitress will be back to take our order and she needed to leave them to alert that waitress. 10 min later the same waitress took our order.....fast forward an hour, 4 new tables were seated and food served while we still waited about to walk out we asked Sonny's wife what was going on we finally were served. We, sat at the only table open next to the window. Blonde employee said loud enough that "they sat at the large table" ..two of us...later joined by 4 family members... Very rude to have made that comment. Food was good, place looks disgusting seriously needs to be cleaned and painted. Front ice machine needs to be moved ..noise it puts out is very loud and distracting. Definitely got quite busy (we arrived just before 8am) by 830-9am people are waiting. May return but staff needs to learn to be polite.
Was just recently here for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. Food was good and always appreciate when Sonny comes out from the back. However, one waitress in particular made my entire experience so unpleasant I may not return. Gabby was so rude to the entire staff, raising her voice for everyone to hear and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable with her ongoing complaints. I understand working in a busy and fast paced environment, but there is a proper way to communicate to your staff. This individual needs to be spoken to about appropriate work etiquette and communication. She was truly the reason my experience was so poor, and hopefully this review is taken into consideration.
